Privacy Policy
Last updated 2 October 2026
Eureka Rockup ("we", "us") runs a marketplace where people post small local tasks and others offer to do them, on this website and in our mobile app. This policy explains what we collect, why, who it is shared with, and how you can delete it. Questions: support@eurekarockup.com.
We never store your street address
When you post a task we ask only for a suburb or postcode. We save the suburb name and an approximate location rounded to about 1 km, which is enough to show tasks "near you". We don't ask for, and don't save, your street address on your account or on a task. People normally share an exact address by sending a chat message to the person they have chosen. Chat messages are stored (that is how chat works), so an address you type in a message stays in that conversation, visible to the other person, until you delete your account. Only share it with someone you have decided to work with.
What we collect
- Account: your name, email address and password. Passwords are handled by our login provider and stored hashed. You may add a short bio.
- Tasks and bids: the title, description, category, price, suburb, approximate location and any photos you attach, plus bids you make.
- Messages: chats between the person who posted a task and the person who offers to do it.
- Reviews, reports and blocks: ratings you give or receive, reports you make or that are made about you, and who you have blocked.
- Location (optional): if you tap "Use my location" or allow it in the app, your device location is used to find nearby tasks. It is sent to our server only to run that search and is not saved to your account. It may appear briefly in routine server logs.
- Notifications (app): a push notification token for your phone, so we can tell you about new messages. Notification text is deliberately generic and never includes what a message says.
- Technical data: IP address, device and browser type, and error logs, kept by our hosting providers for security and reliability.
We don't currently process payments, so we don't collect card or bank details. We don't run advertising or cross-site tracking, and we don't sell personal information.
How we use it
- To run the marketplace: show tasks, let people bid, message and review each other.
- To keep people safe: handle reports, blocks and disputes, and suspend accounts that break our rules.
- To send messages about your account and, in the app, new-message notifications.
- To keep the service secure and working.
Who can see what
- Anyone can see open tasks: the title, description, category, price, suburb, approximate location, photos, and the poster's first name and rating.
- The two people in a conversation can see their messages. Our team may read messages when needed to investigate a report or a dispute.
- Other users can see your name, bio, rating and reviews if you offer to do tasks or post one.
Service providers we use
- Supabase: database, login, file storage and live chat. Hosted in Sydney, Australia.
- Render: runs our server. Hosted in Singapore.
- Cloudflare: website hosting, DNS and security.
- Expo: delivers push notifications to the app.
- OpenStreetMap: when you post a task, the suburb you type is looked up with OpenStreetMap's search service, and maps load tiles from OpenStreetMap, which sees your IP address.
These providers process data for us under their own terms and security practices. Your data may therefore be processed in Australia and Singapore.
Keeping and deleting your data
You can delete your account at any time from your Profile page (website or app), or by following these steps. When you do:
- your name, email, bio and profile picture are removed and your login is closed;
- your open tasks are cancelled, and photos you uploaded are deleted;
- every message you sent is deleted;
- tasks you completed with another person, and reviews you wrote, remain for that person's history but are shown as "Deleted user";
- reports about you may be kept for safety and legal reasons.
You must finish or cancel any active tasks first. Copies held in provider backups are removed on their normal backup cycle.
Your choices and rights
You can see and edit your details in your Profile, block people, and turn off notifications in your phone settings. Depending on where you live, you may also have the right to ask for a copy of your data, to correct it, or to complain to a privacy regulator. Email support@eurekarockup.com and we will respond.
Who can use Eureka Rockup
You must be 18 or older. Eureka Rockup is currently available in Australia only. We don't knowingly collect information from children.
Changes
If we change this policy in a meaningful way we will update the date above and, where appropriate, tell you in the app or by email.
